I am/was have always been confused

Note 1: This is not a direct knee-jerk reaction to Fly's recent post about multiple-blog personality disorder. I've been wanting to do this for some time now.

Note 2: I and Fly don't have any competition running between the two of us however obvious it may seem to the casual observer. The similarities between our blog postings, the frequency etc. are purely coincidental.

When I started out blogging, way back in 2004, I chose this blog, also known as 'Spidey blog', as the space for my personal self. This was the place where I could bare my clandestine identity, where I could fool around exposing my temptations, weirdness and my quixotic sense of humor. It seemed to provide me with a way to get closer to the stuff that I was seeing on the Internet and television namely sex, relationships and comedy.

Soon, as I became used to this process of letting myself flow from my mind to the keyboard, I realized that I could write about more stuff like art, literature, movies, music etc. But I still kept using this confessional as the place to do such things. It is certainly easy to do that. No hassles. Just open it up and do your fingers do the typing.

Lately, I have been having ideas about a truck-load of different streams to write on. And when I think of posting it all in this blog, it doesn't make sense to me as is obvious to the classier reader. In the last few posts I've posted stuff like rants, diary entries, anecdotes, neuro-science, confessions, inspirational music, paintings, hot beddable men and political humor. And in between all this, I got most 'attention' for a narcissistic post with my photographs!

What does this all mean? Does it mean that I'm more lost that anyone could ever be? Or does it mean that I should activate my Peter Parker blogs as well? Another option is to provide a separate window for stuff like rants & and confessionals in one, reviews in another and serious topics in a third right here in the Spidey terrain.

I was confused. Now, I am more confused.

Nope...we don't know each other at all. Was surfing for good Indian gay blogs and came across yours. Do you make it here often? -AP

Make where? On the blog? Yes... err, it's quite evident isn't it?

If you were talking about NYC, I'm afraid no! I wish!

Anonymous said...

....for what this comment is worth, the mix of all your stories make your blog interesting to me. Sure, I too went over to the post on your pictures - but all the other stuff is equally great. My vote is keep doing that you are doing...

I meant NYC...of course

Wow, that was fast! I will keep your vote in mind. And thanks for commenting. I certainly hope to make it to NYC soon as I can't live without my love who's strande in the Big Apple!

Okay, it's hard to maintain more than one blog. So a blog can be mixture of anything. It's supposed to be a representation of what is going on in your head. So it can contain anything. Your personal life, your political opinion, everything. The best part about blogging is that you set the rules.

and I'm an equal opportunity "honey-seeker".

Kris Bass said...

I agree it's hard. But don't you think a little categorization would be better from the reader point of view?

Rambunctious WhipperSnapper said...

i use tags for that .. :P ...

Kris Bass said...

I get your point rmbws. But if lets say, you want to read up about astronomy or particle physics, some of the topics that I intend to write on, you wouldn't come to Engayging Life would you?

:P

Rambunctious WhipperSnapper said...

But then that shouldn't stop you.

And who's to say even *I* might get it. Hell, if Paris Hilton can talk about energy policy, anythings possible.

i liked ur idea about having separate windows. wen one clicks on engayging life or rather kriss bass, we could have a page which is divided vertically n horizontally into 4 parts. each one has a different part of his personality. that way one gets to see what has been written on the other 'sides' at the same time. so if u want to choose naked pictures of kriss [over 'particle physics' or 'engayging anecdotes' or 'orthopaedic disasters (hey did u hear about tht delhi boy who had a piece of rod going thru n thru?)'] u just clik over the page- it becomes 'full screen' and then u can go on ur adventures !!!

btw i noticed u have been blogging here since like 2000. that is like wen unsplung spasm was in class 8 and u still didnt have as much traffic as u deserved before i came in (i will not stop till u agree :) other readers can pls refer who was the lone reader doling out money advice to KB before u guys came)

Kris Bass said...

@ rmbws: I have to decide I agree.

@ Fly: First of all (for everyone who bothers to come to this blog), it's Fly that re-ignited by blog traffic. And for that I sort of took up on his idea to cross-comment on other blogs. I really was finding it rather lonely here in the blogosphere and had a delusion that Indian blogs were not interesting enough. Now I accept that I was totally wrong.

About the 2000; that's not true. I changed the dates to put some posts with my photos.

About the windows, does anybody know how this can be achieved? Blogger is a bad option for any design concepts!

I think you can write here too with tags as Ramby suggested. Or revive your spidy blog. Whatever you do, don't forget to inform us.

And i think, blogger provides greater space in terms of design concept (compared to wordpress blog)s. If not, you can go to wordpress with your own account name hehe.

This is my Spidey blog. My Peter Parker blog needs to be revived. Actually, it needs to be started as my primary gmail and blogger accounts are hacked and inaccessible.

Are you sure about blogger?

Anonymous said...

Blogger allows to download and upload of the xml page and i think we can publish our own xml page.
If that's not possible, you can always modify the template according to your need and give it the shape you want it. HOw about that?

But since, am not so into technical thing, am sure, someone can help you here :P

And why everyone's account being hacked?? **wonders n fears, next will be me**

and sorry about spidy blog. I meant that parker blog hehe

Kris Bass said...

I know it does. But I have never managed to tweak it enough. I'll try that again though.

Who else can help me here?

And everyone's account is getting hacked because there are evil forces in this world. They need a Spiderman or Batman in the Internet world.
