Your potential blog audience

Once you are a blogger, you will always remain one. Agree?

Who are bloggers anyway? Individuals who want their words and thoughts rants to be read, appreciated, and commented on. Although this trend has been significantly dampened by the vicious onslaught of social networking platforms, some bloggers like me remain rather resilient.

Ever since I have been more active here and on Neverlast, I have restarted thinking in terms of who I encounter in my daily life will like what I post. This is what I tweeted earlier.
Although its quite obvious that everyone is promoting their content/themselves in some way or the other, I feel a tad ashamed. Am I being shallow? Does every blogger think this way? I would love to know your answers.

Inspiration

You know that you have to update your blog and you are suddenly itching with ideas. But… darned, you are a work and can’t (ethically) quite put the ideas down. And when you get out of your office, ideas come rushing through and you can’t quite start blogging right away. Instead, you jot down on a list of things to blog about on your PDA and rush back home and start blogging.

Well, that’s exactly what happened to me today. I cleared a backlog of two weeks of blogging!

Blog of the Day Award

Lighting does strike twice. In my case it's two of the very unexpected blogging awards from sources not even known to me. In the last post, I mentioned Linq.in. This time it is considerably bigger - The Blog of the Day Award.

I have been informed by Bill that I have won the Labour Day BOTD award [link]. This is such a momentous moment in my blogging life! I can't find words to describe my feeling.

I would like to thank

  • My parents - who hardly know that I exist (on the blogosphere),
  • My sister - who criticises me in a very sisterly cute way to make me feel  a tad inept,
  • My brother-in-law - who used to snoop around in my blog and my computer to make sure that I wasn't straight,
  • My esteemed readers - all 14.45 of them (as counted yesterday),
  • My bands Noise Market & Shoonyas - who continuously provide me with emotional trauma and fun (respectively),
  • My love, Vinokur - who never ceases to love me. It's incredibly true. I fuck-up almost daily. But as history tells us, Jews are perseverant.
  • My neighborhood - with its wonderful blend of curses, stench and noisy children, it provides a wonderful environment for blogging,
  • My troubled childhood - without which I wouldn't be scarred in the way that I am,
  • .......
  • .......
  • .......
  • The suburban railway network in Mumbai - for serving me cheap thrills and hot men on the platter of inconsistent odour,
  • .......
  • .......
  • The fruit-wallah near my erst-while hospital - for providing me with incredibly tasty pine-apple plates at Rs. 5/-,
  • .......
  • .......
  • And finally, my friendly neighborhood laundromat - which I have just seen all but a few glimpses of; I can't afford it :(
