Narcissism to the fore, once more

The last time I posted something about my looks and stuff, I felt the wrath of criticism stating that I was just too self-indulgent and narcissistic. I was hurt. I went back and asked my mirror the question. But dammit, the mirror refused to answer my question if I was so. I spent a couple of weeks or so in isolation, silently brooding as to how to approach and solve this problem.

Finally I found it. It is a pimple. A small one on my right cheek (bone) really. I still have to pretend to ignore snidely remarks from my friends asking me if I was till puberty. But I have learned from my extensive medical academics that it isn’t always because of hormonal imbalances; diet, hydration, oil control of the skin and emotional state play a part

Since most of you already know that I don’t eat or drink anything worth mentioning and that my emotional state of turbulence will take another 78 years to subside, do you have some advice for taking care of my skin. Someone, from my famous ‘single pictures’ post had suggested moisturizer.

Honestly, every time I visit my supermarket, I walk across the scores of well-lit shelves of skin care products. I don’t have a clue as to what to buy. Could someone, please stand up and give me a tip or two? The more the detail, the more platonic love you can expect from me back.

some hard liquor, cigarettes, and three hours a day in a noisy ricksha around char bungalows and your pimple will run for it's life. trust me. -dh

Birth control pills can give rise to pimples, but I am not sure if gays (I get the impression you are one) take these or not.
Using a topical lotion or cream consisting of erythromycin will take care of the problem.

@ Hines, Duncan: Hard Liquor (yes), Cigarettes (yes, but don't smoke), rickshaw (yess!!) but char bungalows (NO!)

@ Rambodoc: How dare you even suspect that I'm gay? Isn't it obvious? Besides I know about topical cream with the macrolides. But doc, I'm talking about the oily skin! ;)

what's wrong with the char bungalows? okay, okay, go hang out on Juhu, by the beach, your skin will love it, fresh air, and beautiful blue water (yeah right!)

Dealing with pimple outbreaks

-Drink loads of water
-Wash your face as often as possible
-Follow a regular skin cleansing regimen (Cleanse deeply, but moderately)
-Over scrubbing or over cleaning your skin may cause it to become too dry and invite other problems
-Oily skin is prone to blackheads, spots and pimples…use a face wash accordingly

@ DH: Do you want me to confess? Hell, I have had a troubled time there honey. If you really want to know more, you may look up older posts.

@ Swats: Which one? I mean, which facewash? Prash is my next hope.

I wish i could help but drink lots of water ... that might work? That's the only thing I do and skin has been alright so far. in fact, it has been very good.

and moisturizer .... neutrogena has a good one with spf 40 or so i think. it's great sunscreen. one of the best on market.

for skin care, i personally like Guinot products. a bit expensive but certainly worth it. search online for their retail stores in mumbai... give it a shot? i got a cleanser from them a year ago ... it's still going.

@ Roop: Water it is, starting tomorrow! Where can I get these products? Neutrogena especially? And are they over the top in prices? If yes, could someone courier me some half-squeezed tubes and stuff? ;)

It looks like Swats know how to deal with the pimple issue (is it out of experience ?!?) LOL

I can understand, at 28, when you get a pimple, you get annoyed..the feeling that you are not a teenager any more ! I understand

@ Prash: I'm disappointed. I thought you were the living expert of grooming for gay Indian men. ;)

Why don't you actually give me some advice?

Prash said...

need advice ? don't jerk off daily ! hahahaha...no jokes apart, I really don't know ...I would have said the same thing what Swats said.

Kris Bass said...

Prash: Who? What? Where, How? Honey, what's going on? Who jacks off daily? You?

(Okay, okay. I admit. I do that twice everyday!)

Kris, I really mean it when I say... keep it natural!

I found some stuff in an Ayurvedic shop, that's absolutely amazing. If you can find one, all you need to pick up a tube of anything they have to offer.

Otherwise, you'll find lots of Facepacks in any Khadi Gram Udyog, each carrying it's purpose. Make a paste with some powder and rose water. The effect is marvellous, and hardly costs anything.

If you want home-made recipes, do let me know...

@ Prash: What?

@ Unsungpsalm: Oh, I'm not too into ayurveda. And I don't know. Confused now.

@ Delhi BOI: Anything which doesn't cost me is great! A grand is something that I'll use to feed me for a couple of weeks. Again, look, I need to revisit this thread when I have more money. LOLz at the Indian version!
