What I did yesterday

After getting out of the rut, I did the following.
  • I went out and shopped for some vegetables and I cooked some dish with beans, onions and tomato. I felt really good to get back to cooking something to eat.
  • I got a couriered package from one of the readers of the blog (who I think will prefer not to be mentioned here) which had four cans of tuna and one package of oat meal. Thank you! Really, I mean it.
  • I watched 'Shoot On Sight' on a cheap early morning show at a multiplex nearby. I thought that the movie was good (3/5 on my rating) with a couple of very hot older men to ogle at - Naseeruddin Shah and Brian Cox. The plot was just okay and the story was kinda overdone I felt. I was impressed with the Mr. Shah's accent though.
  • I had a 'regular' conversation with Vinokur after about a couple of weeks. By 'regular' I mean one where I felt I needn't hang-up immediately to not make him feel bad about how I felt.
I hope to get back to blog-trotting sometime when I get bored of my studies. That would make me happy. Anhedonia simply didn't work.

(What really got me out of the rut was 'Body of Lies', the movie. I saw that over the weekend. I loved the movie. 3.5/5. Really fast and a crafty plot and stuff. I was a little dismayed at the physical appearance of Crowe - someone who should have matured into something much more handsome. Leo, gee... is good!)

God bless from your well-wisher. He has a good soul.

An extremely thoughtful gesture.

That was a very nice thing to do on your friend's part. Glad you cooked veggies at home instead of consuming the Rs 16 a plate dosa.

Good luck with the studies. Hope you get back to blogtrotting soon.

"anhedonia" was the original name for woody allen's film "annie hall." Annie Hall is my all time favorite movie.

I hope your inability to experience joy is temporary. don't deprive yourself of happy.

I don't know you but you seem sad and lonely, but there seems to be lots of people in your life. There's always the chance that it's from a lack of physical affection. Going to bed alone every night is lame, it really zaps your soul. must be lame to be in a city with billions and be sleeping single.

Will think of ways to help.

Your Monday sounds so exciting than me...trust me !

Mine was like this :

1. Wake up
2. check emails
3. go to work
4. check mails
5. hurry to the meetings
6. lunch with colleagues
7. hurry to a meeting in the Swedish Consulate
8. hurry to a prize presentation ceremony at the Hong Kong University.
9. sick and boring conversations with unknown people (whom you will never ever meet in your life) who get excited to see somebody from the French consulate and they just show off their knowledge about France and French
10. get back home by 10 or so and hit the bed

see....so boring, I told ya !

what did you really cook ? is that a bean curry ? you ate with bread or rice ?

a bollger sending your food through courrier...oh my god ! you easily give away your postal address to bloggers ?

I thought I had anhedonia until my netflix came in and I had "the Burning" in there, this cheap uber cheesy 80's horror flick, and then i realized that I was overcome with "happy" at just the name -Duncan Hines

@ Unsungpsalm: It really was. Thank you 'blog friend'!

@ Firebolt: Well, I still think that the 16 rupee dosa plate (which has actually been raised to 20 rupee with the addition of an egg in one of the dosas) is a pretty good meal.

I'm not getting time to blog trot. So, I guess I won't be doing it soon. :(

@ DH: You know, I have never watch Woody films despite him being on the Vinokur list of things to watch/do/enjoy.

I would soon start sleeping around I guess.

@ Prash: Your day is so interesting. Well, I don't usually share such stuff with anyone. But this guy and I had a 'contract' of sorts.

@ DH: Vinokur had Netflix. I haven't resorted to the Indian versions of that.

@ Rated R: What 'show' is this? ;)

@ Raj: I'm sure this is spam. Can you confirm or deny it?

@ Pooja: Thank you!
